Frequently asked questions about the integration exam

Everything you need to know before you start practising

You take four language parts: Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking. You also take KNM (Knowledge of Dutch Society) and ONA. This platform covers the language parts at A2 and at B1, plus KNM. Only Listening B1 and ONA are still on the way.

At A2, Reading and Listening each have 25 multiple-choice questions with three options (A, B or C). Writing has 4 writing tasks and Speaking has 16 speaking tasks.

At A2, Reading takes about 65 minutes, Listening 45, Writing 40 and Speaking 35. Our practice exams use the same timings, so you know how it feels.

Your answer is graded against the marking rubric our NT2 teacher wrote herself: you get a score per criterion with an explanation. The teacher reviews those gradings and adjusts the rubric where needed. So the rubric comes from a teacher, not from a model.

Practice exam 1 of every part is free and complete — not a sample, a full exam. You need no account for it. All 40 practice exams of a level need a paid subscription.

No. Every task is written or reviewed by a certified NT2 teacher before it goes live. For Writing and Speaking a model helps apply the rubric, but the rubric, the model answers and the review all come from the teacher.
